BAND PROFILE
After spending two short weeks holed up and snowed in at Newkirk Studios, Brooklyn-based Blackbells emerged from the borough with their debut self-titled EP in hand. The band's cohesiveness is immediately apparent and can probably be owed to the four members having spent countless hours roaming the streets together, and many more playing in several venerable New York bands.
On the heels of those collaborations, members Ben Rice, Anthony Stella, Austin Schumacher, and Seth Bulkin set aside time to create a project of their own. Calling upon influences ranging from Echo and the Bunneymen to Oasis and contemporaries Band of Skulls—with whom they have shared the stage—Blackbells have created a unique aesthetic replete with Wall of Sound guitars, a massive rhythm section, and impressive production.
